Driving Compliance for BGW
BGW is an insurance company with operations spread out across Germany and the European Union. BGW has staff deployed across Europe with company-provisioned devices, presenting data security risks for BGW and clients.
The Problem
As a major insurance company, BGW handles millions of customers’ personal data. Under the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), BGW must meet a plethora of expansive compliance requirements. With employees spread out across Germany and the EU, BGW required a technological solution to secure customers’ personal data across their company’s devices to ensure GDPR compliance, regardless of time and/or location.
The Solution
FLUID deployed a coupled mobile device management and geofencing solution to ensure GDPR requirements were met.
FLUID automated mobile device security features, including locking data access depending on time and location, thereby ensuring customer data could not be accessed off-prem.
Geofences were created throughout BGW entire are of operations – across Europe – to tailor unique policies and device permissions depending on time and location, ensuring BGW client data was accessible but GDPR-compliant.
FLUID also administered messages and notifications as employees entered, worked in, and exited geofenced locations ensuring all tasks were completed as necessary while driving efficiencies.
Results/Impact
With a lightweight software solution deployed across BGW mobile devices, GDPR compliance requirements were met. With client data accessible only by verified time and locations, data breach risk was greatly mitigated. Additionally, custom messaging and task reminders tailored to time and location drove efficiencies and performance outcomes by keeping employees on-task and on-time.
